“The Masked Singer” Recap: Another Monster Bites The Dust

The Masked Singer continued on Wednesday night with the remaining Group B celebrities fighting for a spot in the group finals and the new wildcard twist continuing to shake up the game.

In case you missed it, here’s a recap of the performances and who was unmasked.

Grandpa Monster

The “old man” grandpa monster was first up. His clue package included him saying “I’ve always hated the sound of my singing voice” along with a Santa hat, and references to stranding himself in the wild like a “castaway”.

Who is behind the mask? My guess: I’ll keep this quiet since I was spoiled before the episode aired. All I will say is that I’d use the word “celebrity” loosely here.

Piglet

Next up was Nick…I mean, Piglet. His clue package included a white star with a black stripe and several references to football. His performance of Andy Grammer’s “Good to Be Alive (Hallelujah)” was so good that I listened to it twice.

Who is behind the mask? My guess: 98 Degrees star and TV host Nick Lachey

Black Swan

Black Swan had the tough task of following Piglet’s performance but she was up to the challenge. She performed Shawn Mendes’ “In My Blood” and blew the roof off the studio. Her voice is clearly that of a professional recording artist and the clues in her package included having to distance herself from those close to her early in her life.

Who is behind the mask? My guess: “Leave (Get Out)” singer JoJo

Chameleon

The penultimate performance of the night belonged to the Chameleon. His clue package this week included someone close to him being “constantly attacked for who she was.” That person was then “later taken from him.” He performed “21 Questions” by 50 Cent featuring Nate Dogg like someone who is professional and has a long history rapping.

Who is behind the mask? My guess: rapper Wiz Khalifa

Crab

The final performance of the night belonged to this week’s wildcard. His clue package included things like “the darkness that has followed me and my family” and that his childhood crush was Janet Jackson. He performed “Ain’t No Sunshine” and it was pretty solid.

Who is behind the mask? My guess: Singer Bobby Brown

The unmasking

After everyone had performed, guest host Niecy Nash returned with the results. She revealed Grandpa Monster had gotten the fewest votes from the audience and panel. Once he took off the mask, Grandpa Monster was revealed to be YouTuber Logan Paul.
