‘The Masked Singer’ Recap: The Taco is unmasked!

The Masked Singer continued on Wednesday night as one more celebrity was unmasked and the remaining acts advanced to the Super Nine.

So who got the boot? Let’s dive in this week’s episode!

Kitty

Kicking the show off was the furry feline, who “didn’t have a ton of friends and got bullied at school for being weird.” She sang Miranda Lambert’s “Mama’s Broken Heart” and she really has a solid voice. I originally thought this was Elizabeth Gillies, but now I’m thinking its another Nickelodeon star.

Who is behind the mask? My guess: Former Victorious star Victoria Justice.

Taco

Up next was the popular Tuesday dinner choice, who’s friend described him as someone who “helps people when they get knocked out when life hits them in low places.” The Taco sang “Can’t Help Myself” by The Four Tops. Another clue that gave him away was when he told judge Nicole Scherzinger, “When I saw you in person, you were perfect.”

Who is behind the mask? My guess: Dancing With The Stars host Tom Bergeron

Banana

The yellow fruit was next up and he delivered his best performance to date, singing “Lean on Me” by Bill Withers. He told the judges that his father recently passed away and this song “was their jam.” I originally thought this was a comedian but this guy has a voice. And there’s a recent celebrity who lost a parent.

Who is behind the mask? My guess: Poison frontman Bret Michaels

Frog

Closing out the show was The Frog and he delivered the best performance of the entire night. He sang The Gap Band’s “You Dropped a Bomb on Me” and gave guest judge/Season 1 winner T-Pain a friendship bracelet that said “All We Do Is Win”. This had me thinking this guy has recorded a song with T-Pain, which means I have a good idea as to who this is.

Who is behind the mask? My guess: Rapper and actor Bow Wow

The Unmasking

After all the performances, host Nick Cannon returned with the results. He revealed that Taco had the fewest audience votes and would be sent home. It was ultimately revealed to be Dancing With The Stars host Tom Bergeron under the mask. Who knew Tom could sing like that!
