‘The Masked Singer’ Recap: Group C kicks off with one shocking reveal

Part of the fun of The Masked Singer isn’t just the wacky costumes or the celebrities’ performances, it’s guessing who is behind the mask. And let me tell you, I had a tough time guessing who was behind the mask as the show kicked off its Group C round.

Without further ado, let’s dive into this recap.

Night Angel

One of the more freaky costumes in the history of this show belonged to Night Angel. Seriously, that mask was disturbing. Anyway, her clue package included four Grammys, magic and a motel. Her performance of Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love a Bad Name” was fire and one of the best performances of the season. My mom is a massive Real Housewives fan, so that’s probably why I clued in on this person after I heard her voice.

Who is behind the mask? My guess: Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss

Bear

Next up was a “momma bear” who said in her clue package that she had been the “target of criticism”, and then viewers saw a pair of skates. Her performance of Sir Mix-a-Lot’s “Baby Got Back” was fun. This isn’t who I think it is, is it?

Who is behind the mask? My guess: Former vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin

Astronaut

One of the cooler costumes of the season had to be the astronaut and not just because gold is my favorite color. He sang Lauren Daigle’s “You Say” and it was shaky but sounded like a singer or someone who at least knows how to control his vocals.

Who is behind the mask? My guess: I have no idea!

T-Rex

Next up was everyone’s favorite dinosaur, T-Rex. She may not have the best voice but she delivered a performance fully of energy. She sang Pink’s “So What” to the best of her abilites, but it wasn’t my favorite.

Who is behind the mask? My guess: I don’t know!

Rhino

The penultimate performance of the night belonged to the Rhino. He had tons of country music clues in his pre-performance package but I think that might have been a red herring. He sang “Have a Little Faith in Me” by John Hiatt, which I think was more of a clue than anything else.

Who is behind the mask? My guess: Former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow

Swan

The final performance belonged to the Swan, who’s clue package made it tough to figure out who she is. She sang Peggy Lee’s “Fever” nicely and as someone who grew up watching tons of Disney Channel, I think I know who this one is.

Who is behind the mask? My guess: Former Disney Channel star Bella Thorne

The Reveal

Following all the performances, host Nick Cannon returned with the results. He revealed that Bear had gotten the fewest audience votes and therefore would be sent home. Before she left, she was unmasked and revealed to be former VP nominee and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, one of the most shocking unmaskings in show history!
