Sofia Vergara joining ‘America’s Got Talent’ as judge for Season 15, Heidi Klum returns to panel

America’s Got Talent has officially filled the seats at the judges’ desk.

Modern Family star Sofia Vergara is joining the talent competition as a judge for its upcoming 15th season, NBC announced on Thursday afternoon. Additionally, Heidi Klum will return to her judges’ seat alongside Howie Mandel and Simon Cowell. Terry Crews is back for his second season as the show’s host.

“Sofia’s infectious energy and sharp wit will blend perfectly with returning favorites Heidi, Simon, Howie, and Terry. As both a respected actress and successful entrepreneur, she embodies the American dream that is synonymous with AGT’s transformative stage,” said Meredith Ahr, President, Alternative & Reality Group, NBC Entertainment.

TNWU reported back in December that the Modern Family star was in talks to join the hit NBC show along with producing various shows such as dramas and a possible Spanish language show.

“I’m so happy to join my new family on AGT,” said Vergara in a press release. “This is a new and exciting next chapter for me and I’m extremely proud to be the first Latin judge on the show. I can’t wait to watch all the talent and have fun with all you guys!”

Klum originally was a judge on the show from 2013-2018 but left the show in 2019. She returned for AGT Champions in January and got back into the swing of things without missing a beat.

“I’m so excited to be back at AGT with Simon, Howie and Terry,” Klum said. “The fact that Sofia Vergara is joining us is the icing on an already delicious cake.”
