Sofia Vergara “in talks” to join ‘America’s Got Talent’ as a judge

NBC is looking to fill the two vacant seats at the America’s Got Talent judge’s desk since both Julianne Hough and Gabrielle Union are not returning for Season 15 next summer.

One name rumored to fill one of the seats? Modern Family star Sofia Vergara.

TMZ first reported and Variety later confirmed that Vergara has met with NBC producers to discuss the possibility of joining the talent competition as a judge along with other projects for the network. The 47-year-old actress is filming the final season of Modern Family for ABC but will be free from her contract in 2020.

Along with the AGT judging role, Vergara is reportedly also in talks with the network on other projects such as dramas and a possible Spanish language. With NBC owning Telemundo, she would be a major get for the network.
