‘How To Get Away With Murder’ 6×08 recap: Was Annalise’s fate just revealed?

With one week until the fall finale, Thursday’s episode of How To Get Away With Murder tied up some loose ends and made a big reveal about #WhoKilledAnnalise.

In case you missed it, here’s all of what went down in 6×08:

Nate won’t take no for an answer

If there’s one character who really annoyed me in Thursday’s episode, it’s Nate. Despite countless warnings from Annalise, he decides to take Nate Sr.’s death to trial and take down the Governor once and for all. However, Annalise tried everything from getting Bonnie removed from the case to Frank threatening the prison guard on duty that night, but nothing stopped Nate.

The defense called Paula Gladden, one of the guards at Nate Sr.’s transfer on the night he died, to the stand. Yes, I know what you’re thinking – it’s that guard, the same one who told Bonnie to her face that Miller ordered the transfer. You’ll never believe it, but she actually told the truth, that it was Xavier Castillo who ordered Nate Sr.’s death. The look on Nate’s face said it all.

I’m not going to say I told you so, but I did. Nate just needed to let this thing go, but he couldn’t. Now, his relationship with Annalise is shakier than ever. Yes, this is worse than the time she got Nate locked up. Judging by the preview for next week’s fall finale, it looks like their relationship is over for good and the results could be deadly.

Bonnie finds out the truth

Bonnie had one hell of an episode but by the end of it, she may just be all alone. Last week, Frank basically confessed his love for her, but she wasn’t ready to commit to him just yet. While on the phone with Annalise, Bonnie’s breaks were cut and she had an accident. She’ll be okay but it was still pretty scary.

She’s in the hospital and will likely be okay – well maybe. She sees the news that Xavier was the one responsible for Nate Sr.’s death and that Miller was trying to stop the transfer from happening. Bonnie connects the dots and realizes Frank and Annalise lied to her and kept the truth from her.

So this leads me to ask: is Bonnie the FBI’s informant? She has no reason to be loyal to Annalise or Frank after this. So why not take them down and pin Rebecca’s death on her as well? I’m already wishing next Thursday was here so us viewers can get the answers.

Annalise’s plan goes into motion

While all the courtroom drama was taking place, the show time jumps one week into the future when Annalise is giving her students their final exam. They must help defend Snow White and the seven dwarves, who are being accused of murdering the Queen. Asher is the only one who came up with what actually happened (with some help from Annalise): the Queen faked her own death and framed Snow White for the murder.

So what’s the point of this? As the episode ends, Annalise is seen wiping her computer, gathering her belongings, and getting into a car. It honestly looks like she is about to fake her own death and flee.

Now, I’ve said since the beginning of this season that Annalise would not die. However, now I’m worried. Why did the show introduce this idea a week early? Now I fear she really may have died. One more week until viewers know for sure!
