Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough exit ‘America’s Got Talent’ after one season

America’s Got Talent is making some changes at the judges’ desk for the second straight season.

NBC has confirmed to Variety that both Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough will not return for Season 15 of America’s Got Talent in 2020 after just one season on the panel. However, judge Howie Mandel and executive producer/judge Simon Cowell are expected to return alongside host Terry Crews.

The news comes after Union and Hough were both replaced for the upcoming season of America’s Got Talent: The Champions with Heidi Klum and Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon. No reason was given for their departures.

As of now, there is no news about who will replace the two women. After a season of fan complaints of a lack of chemistry between the judges, look for the upcoming Champions edition to serve as a test. If Dixon can get the fan support, it is likely she and Klum will remain with the show for Season 15.

Another name to keep an eye on is Nicole Scherzinger. The 41-year-old former Pussycat Doll is no stranger to judging talent. She’s currently on the panel of Fox’s hit The Masked Singer and has a great relationship with Cowell, having worked with him on The X Factor: Celebrity in the UK and serving as a judge on Australia’s Got Talent.

America’s Got Talent returns to NBC for Season 15 in Summer 2020, while America’s Got Talent: The Champions returns on January 6.
