AGT’s Preacher Lawson advances to ‘Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions’ finale

Preacher Lawson found success on America’s Got Talent and now he is trying his luck across the pond.

The 28-year-old comedian made his U.K. debut on Saturday night’s episode of Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions and proved why America fell in love with him. He did a hilarious set about bathroom surprises, losing twice to AGT Season 12 winner Darci Lynn and Tyra Banks.

His performance earned a standing ovation from all four judges and over 10,000 fans at London’s Wembley Arena. All the judges praised him, but it was Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden who gave him the biggest compliments of all.

“You landed tonight Preacher, just like you did in America,” Simon said. “You’re a champion because you came all the way here and [are] competing with the best in the world. In my opinion, this is one of the best acts we’ve seen through the whole series of this show.”

Amanda added: “Every single thing hit on point. You got loads of laughs and I feel you might win this entire thing. That’s how confident I am about you.”

When it came time to vote, the superfans sent Preacher into next month’s grand final as he beat the reigning BGT champion in the final vote.

“Thank you so much to the judges for all the kind words,” Preacher said. “Thank you to the fans for voting. I’m just so happy.”
