‘America’s Got Talent’ recap: After an off night, which acts advanced to the semifinals?

After an underwhelming night of performances on Tuesday’s episode of America’s Got Talent, it was time for America to make their voices heard as seven more acts advanced to the semifinals.
Wednesday’s results show kicked off with a special tribute from show boss Simon Cowell to judge Howie Mandel, who is celebrating 10 years on the show this year. Simon unveiled a billboard on Sunset Blvd., which read “Happy 10 year anniversary, Howie!” but the joke was that it was actually Simon’s face on the billboard with Howie’s head taking up a small portion.
Things got more serious when host Terry Crews revealed Charlotte Summers, Chris Klafford, and Ndlovu Youth Choir were in the bottom three and in danger of going home. The voting video opened for fans to save their favorite. Terry announced the first results of the night which saw violinist Tyler Butler-Figueroa and Indian dance group V Unbeatable advance to the next round.
After some filler, Terry returned with more results. He revealed that both singer Robert Finley and dancers Light Balance Kids had done enough to earn America’s support to advance to the next round.
Britain’s Got Talent icon Susan Boyle then graced the AGT stage for the first time since losing AGT: The Champions to promote her album and sing “I Dreamed A Dream”, aka the song that made her famous. I love Susan, but I wish she’d sing a different song; I mean even she has to be sick of it by now.
Terry returned with the final results of the night. He announced comedian Ryan Niemiller had made it through and America saved Chris Klafford with the Dunkin Save. It was then down to the judges to decide between Charlotte Summers and the Ndlovu Youth Choir.
Gabrielle and Simon picked the choir, while Julianne and Howie picked Charlotte. Just before the show ended, Terry revealed that America put the Ndlovu Youth Choir through, making them the final act to advance. If you look at my recap from Tuesday night, I was a perfect 7-for-7 with my predictions. Who wants the lotto numbers next?
