Josh Segarra and Colin Donnell to return for final season of ‘Arrow’

Arrow is set to go out with a bang this fall as Entertainment Weekly is reporting both Josh Segarra and Colin Donnell are returning to guest star in the eighth and final season.

Segarra played villain Adrian Chase/Prometheus in the fifth season of the superhero show and Donnell played Oliver’s best friend Tommy Merlyn in season 1. Both characters died in their respective seasons, but have returned in seasons past in flashbacks and hallucinations.

“Adrian Chase comes back in a different way than expected,” showrunner/executive producer Beth Schwartz said to EW about his appearance in season 8. “We’re really excited about that because obviously, he’s one of our favorite villains.”

Elsewhere, executive producer Marc Guggenheim teases that Donnell is “not coming back as the Tommy we know.”

In the eighth and final season, “Oliver will find himself pit against his most challenging battle yet, one that will leave the multiverse hanging in the balance,” according to the show’s official logline. “In Arrow’s final season, Oliver Queen is forced to confront the reality of what it means to be a hero.”

It looks like the show is going to bring everything full circle and tie up as many loose ends as possible with its 10-episode run, including Oliver’s journey from vigilante to hero.
