‘America’s Got Talent’ recap: Who stood out in the final night of auditions?

After seven weeks, the auditions for Season 14 of America’s Got Talent concluded with some weird, inspiring, and fun performances and Julianne Hough using the Golden Buzzer.

In case you missed it, here are the best and worst acts from the final night of auditions

The Best

Duo Maintenant

In my opinion, the acrobatic routine was easily the best act of the night. The quickness, fluidity, and gracefulness were magical to watch and they performed with ease. Some of the tricks that were performed were just simply outstanding. I have a strong feeling this act can make it very far and go into the live shows.

Robert Finley

65-year-old war veteran Robert Finley proved that age is nothing but a number as he graced the AGT stage with his amazing talent. He might be blind due to glaucoma, but he did not let that stop him.

He sang an original song that brought the house down, as the audience and judges on their feet. Personally, I found his performance very inspiring and it brought a smile to my face.

Kara with a K

The comedian from Arizona had me laughing and screaming at my television. The 37-year-old’s witty routine had her doing splits and pulling out a burger and fries from her bra. I’m not a girl, but how convienent is that?! I don’t know how far Kara will make it, but I throughly enjoyed her performance and can’t wait to see what she will do next.

The Worst

Gonzo

I’ve seen this act on Britain’s Got Talent before. I was not impressed then and I was not impressed now. I just don’t see the appeal in slapping your face with a tambourine to be funny.

Episode Notes:

  • As auditions come to an end, I feel that there was a little lack in talent this year. Not as many “WOW” moments and more “Oh, that was cool” moments. Maybe the real talent will shine through as we get to Judge Cuts and start to filter out the exceptional from the good,
  • The final Golden Buzzer of the season came from Julianne Hough and she sent aspiring Broadway star Luke Islam to the live shows for his rendition of “She Used To Be Mine”. I’m not sure how far he’ll go, but he was definitely one of the best performances of the night.
