Preview: “Timeless” Fans Are About to Be Blown Away
The wait is over, Timeless fans. Be assured, you won’t be disappointed at all in the season opener. From its explosive opening to its jaw dropping end, you will be riveted to your screen the whole episode!
To recap the final episodes of season one, Lucy (Abigail Spencer) finds out her ancestors are
part of Rittenhouse, and Flynn’s (Goran Visnjic) entire goal was to kill her grandfather and end Rittenhouse’s time manipulation. We discovered Emma (Annie Wersching), living as a frontier woman in the 1800’s, is actually a time traveler too and she steals the Mothership. Flynn may not be the ultimate evil after all, but he’s certainly a patsy and takes the fall for all the evil that has occured since the time project began with Mason Industries. Before he’s arrested by Agent Christopher (Sakina Jaffrey), Flynn gives Lucy back her journal, which he claims she gave to him for safekeeping. Lucy discovers her own mother (Susanna Thompson) knew all along she was Rittenhouse royalty and her father was not who she thought he was.
We also see that Wyatt (Matt Lanter) has admitted he’s fallen for Lucy (which we fans had been waiting for all season). He and Rufus (Malcolm Barrett) have taken an ill Jiya (Claudia Doumit) back to Mason industries in the lifeboat. Jiya had a massive seizure after trying to fit four people into the capsule only meant for three. Rufus, shot in episode 15, is recovering, and Agent Christopher and Mason (Patterson Joseph) both apologize for putting Rufus in danger.
I do not want to give away too many spoilers about the episode – I really want fans to be as drawn in and surprised as I was, but I can tell you a few things: Emma is definitely a hardcore villain. You won’t know what to make of Carol, Lucy’s mother. She and Emma coerce Lucy into doing something terrible. Lucy is still being thwarted in her efforts to find her sister. The historical era is WWI France and we meet Madame Marie Curie and her daughter. Rufus is still tending an ill Jiya. As for Wyatt and Lucy… all I’m going to give you is one big grin.
My notes while watching consisted of “wow,” “awesome,” “that’s harsh,” “this is top of the line suspense,” “tense,” “emotional,” and “freaking intense.” Oh, I left out, “OMG!” I promise you will love this episode, and audiences will know why fans fought so hard to keep this on the air.
Timeless returns Sunday March 11th at 10/9c pm on NBC.

I think it’d be great if Lucy’s mum hooks up with Garcia Flynn!
