Tickets Still Available for BroadwayCon 2018

We are exactly one week away from the biggest weekend in the theater community! With the exception of the Tony Awards, BroadwayCon is the biggest gathering of theater lovers right in the heart of New York City.

Held over a three day period at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center (655 West 34th Street New York, NY 10001), the expo brings fans, industry professionals, up-and-coming performers, and Broadway’s biggest stars all under one roof. Not only can fans can meet and interact with their favorite Broadway stars, they can also meet with other likeminded fans to discuss their favorite shows and the effect they have on their personal life as well as the world at large.

This year will showcase of some of Broadway’s newest and most exciting shows such as Dear Evan Hansen and Anastasia, as well as some classic shows such as Wicked and Aladdin. It’s a place where industry professionals can work one-on-one with the next generation of up-and-coming performers, especially through the Broadway Star to Be contest.

Unlike most conventions, BroadwayCon’s workshops, autograph sessions, and photo booths are included in the price of the ticket. They require advanced registration, so space is limited and admission is granted only via the online lottery. You can get more information about the online lottery as well as other Frequently Asked Questions here.

Another highlight of this year’s convention is the 10 Year Reunion for In The Heights. Moderated by Luis Miranda, the panel will feature Lin Manuel-Miranda, Karen Olivo, Alex Lacamoire, and more. They will discuss the show’s impact on musical theatre as well as its original road to Broadway. The In The Heights 5 year reunion at The United Palace Theater in Washington Heights was amazing, so I’d say BroadwayCon attendees are in for a real treat.

BroadwayCon 2018 is one you do not want to miss. Tickets are still available for purchase here. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Prices start at $90 for single day tickets, $220 for the full weekend.
