WCW Jodie Whittaker

THE FUTURE IS FEMALE, YALL.

Ok that’s out of my system. The past few days have been a rush for women all over the world. Doctor Who announced it’s next Doctor, Jodie Whittaker aka today’s WCW. I admit, I screamed when I saw the hood lift and there was Jodie’s face. I can’t wait for the Christmas Special and the subsequent season. But until then, let’s take a look at what makes Jodie fantastic.

Now the only work I’ve seen Jodie perform is in the popular Broadchurch (also starring Who-alum, David Tennant). But let me tell you, she’s a force to be reckoned with. Her character, Beth, is seen as a mousy mother of a deceased son, but she also doesn’t take crap from anyone. She’s fiercely protective of her family, even going so far as to accuse her best friend of ruining her life (although SEASON 1 SPOILER that’s not true). Season 3 is currently airing on BBC America if you’re interested in thriller-mysteries.

One of the most requested-to-me works of Jodie is Attack the Block, a sci-fi alien invasion thriller, co-starring everyone’s favorite former Stormtrooper, John Boyega. It’s definitely on my to-watch list.

Other works I need to binge: Hello Carter (starring my favorite, Charlie Cox), The Assests (another thriller!), and The Smoke. If you’ve seen any of these and/or have recommendations for others, let me know!

And if you’re looking for Jodie on Twitter, it’s a sad no-go. What is it about the Doctor that he/she dislikes social media!
