Hustle & Soul: Behind WeTV’s Recipe for Reality Success

Soul food, romance, and above all else: drama. WeTV finds the perfect balance between these ideals in their new show, “Hustle & Soul.”
The show follows Lawrence Page and his crew at The Pink Tea Cup on their mission to receive a highly respected Michelin Star certification for their restaurant. The stakes are high, but he’s willing to put in the work to ensure that his staff has what it takes.
As a family-owned business, the staff at the Pink Teacup is very close. Lawrence, the owner and head chef, is currently dating Ana, the general manager of the restaurant and the mother of his child. Originally from the Bronx, Ana’s New York attitude causes tension between the staff members and her catty comments lead her to be the bad guy of the group. She has especially strong feelings towards Candice, the bartender who has hinted at a fling with Lawrence.
The mood is so tense that you will not have to wait long for the drama and fighting to kick in. You can tell from the premiere episode that there will be some problems throughout this season. Lawrence will need to work hard to make sure that his family stays together and that they receive their Michelin Star goal.
Rounding out the rest of the crew are Sana, the hostess; Thandi, the floor manager; Dominic and Stefan, the cute waiter twins that are the light of the show. They may have their differences, but at the end of the day they all care for Lawrence and have respect for what he and his family is trying to accomplish. Throughout the season, follow along to see if they can take the successful launch from a simple Brooklyn restaurant to fine dining.
You can watch Hustle & Soul at 10/9c every Thursday on WeTV. To catch up with the first 3 episodes you can download the app or head to the WeTV website.
