Green Day Kicks Off Revolution Radio Tour

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees, Green Day, are taking North America by storm as they set out on the first leg of their Revolution Radio World Tour. Their political activism has never been stronger and they’re certainly turning to music to deal with current political outcry. Some may complain that they should stay out of the political fray but that has never been the band’s style and their fans love them for it.

Historically, in times of struggle and cultural revolution (album pun intended), there has always been a surge of artistic creation as a form of rebellion. This has always been a strong suit of the band and I believe the Dallas Morning News hit the nail on the head when they wrote that “Green Day proved just how the right band with the right song, even in the most divisive of times, can unify the masses for at least one night.”

Politics aside, news outlets and fans are already raving about the incredible, almost flawless performances of the tour that just kicked off in Ontario on the 21st. The set list doesn’t just include tracks off of Revolution Radio, it ranges over the entirety of Green Day’s discography, from songs off of 1994’s Dookie all the way into 21st Century Breakdown. The already bright flame of Idiot Nation has been stoked by the upcoming tour of mostly sold out shows and Green Day fans around the globe are rejoicing.

The first North American leg of the tour is set to conclude at the beginning of next month. Then, on April 30th, the European and the Australasian leg commences. Don’t worry! The guys are back for the final set of North American shows in August and September.

You can see if tickets are still available in a city near you on the band’s official website.

Green Day is back in full attack mode and we should all be thankful. Houston Culture Map
