USA Network’s Emmy Nominated Drama “Mr.Robot” Renewed for a Third Season

USA Network announced a third season pickup of the original drama series “Mr. Robot”! The Golden Globe® and Peabody Award-Winning series, produced by Universal Cable Productions, was also nominated for six primetime Emmy® Awards. The second season of this popular series, is currently airing all-new episodes on Wednesdays at 10/9pm CDT. “Mr. Robot’s” third Season is currently slated to air in 2017.

“Mr. Robot” follows the story of Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek, “The Pacific”), a cyber-security engineer who becomes involved in the underground hacker group, fsociety, after being recruited by their leader (Christian Slater, “Nymphomaniac”). Following the events of fsociety’s five/nine hack on the multi-national company Evil Corp, the second season explores the consequences of that attack as well as the illusion of control.
The drama hails from Universal Cable Productions, writer and executive producer Esmail (“Comet”) as well as Anonymous Content executive producers Steve Golin (“True Detective”) and Chad Hamilton (“Breakup at a Wedding”). And also stars Portia Doubleday (“Her”), Carly Chaikin (“Suburgatory”), Martin Wallström (“Simple Simon”), Grace Gummer (“The Newsroom”), Michael Cristofer (“Ray Donovan”) and Stephanie Corneliussen (“Legends of Tomorrow”).
