CW Seed Adds “Freedom Fighters: The Ray” to Lineup

After releasing The Vixen, Justice League, and Birds of Prey on their online channel CW Seed, is following up with another installment in the DC multiverse. Freedom Fighters: The Ray introduces Raymond Terrill aka The Ray, a superhero with light based manipulation powers.

Raymond was a reporter set on finding the injustices of the world and shining a light on them. When he uncovers a conspiracy by a group of government sciences intent on weaponizing light, he is set to reveal them. They tried to kill him with a light bomb, but instead of dying, Raymond was gifted with powers of flight, light manipulation, and energy blasts. Raymond decides to use his new-found powers to not just write about injustice, but to stop it.

The Ray is going into uncharted territories by becoming the first superhero show with a gay lead. It will be headed by executive producers Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim, the minds behind CW’s other DC shows.

The show is set to debut in 2017.
