Civil Youth Releases an Acoustic Video for Their Single “Sleep”

Civil Youth, one of Philadelphia’s rising indie alternative/rock bands have been wowing audiences and making new fans while on the road this summer.  Civil Youth has been playing a slew of shows across the East Coast and have recently announced their summer run on The Evolution Tour!

The band teamed up with Soundfiction and just today unveiled a stripped-down acoustic performance of their single “Sleep,” which is from their first album Disguised in Color. The video was shot on Daytona Beach at the break of dawn while the band was on tour.

Frontman Michael Kepko states:

We hope you enjoy our video of “Sleep” from our first record, “Disguised In Color”. To preface this day, we drove from a show in Orlando to shoot this the following morning, then continued the day driving to Atlanta, GA for another show the next evening. Irony at its best…

Since their debut in March 2015, indie band Civil Youth has toured frequently at the national level and is in fact currently on their 6th U.S. tour. After the release of their debut album, Disguised In Color, Civil Youth has garnered airplay on 134 FM radio stations, landed sync licensing deals with major networks including MTV, VH1, and E!, and received national press in Alternative Press Magazine.

The band has since released their second full-length album, Who Rescued Who, as well as an all-acoustic album titled Ossein. Michael Kepko, lead singer, originally started writing music to help express his anxiety and depressing while living in Boston. Civil Youth, has evolved into a cultural movement backed by a community of thousands of supporters who identify with the band’s introspective and deeply emotional lyrics and music.

A Civil Youth stage show is a sight to behold that includes light-up drum solos, crowd chanting, instrument swaps, and fantastic stage acrobatics. Between the heavy guitar riffs and the poetic rapping, Civil Youth connects with fans of all ages across the US. Civil Youth can no longer be classified as a “local band,” since they’ve made their name unforgettable as they tour across the United States.

Head to Soundfiction today to watch Civil Youth’s daybreak on the beach performance of “Sleep.”
