Anthony Anderson and Lauren Graham to Announce Emmy Awards Nominations
Summer is officially here! Whether you’re trudging through the outrageously high temperatures in Southern California or the stifling humidity in Florida, the weather has driven people inside to places with air conditioning. This is an advantage since so many big events have been happening lately including the NBA Finals and the Tony Awards. It’s never too early to start thinking about the upcoming awards show season.
The Television Academy recently announced that Anthony Anderson (black-ish) and Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls) will present the nominations for the 68th Emmy Awards from the Wolf Theater at the Academy’s newly-opened Saban Media Center on Thursday, July 14th at 11:30 a.m. ET/8:30 a.m. PT. The nomination ceremony will be streamed live on Emmys.com.
With the groundbreaking top four acting Tony Awards all going to people of color this year, there is hope that the ceremony will be more diverse than this year’s Oscars.
The 68th Emmy Awards, including the star-studded Red Carpet pre-show, will telecast live from The Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, Sunday, September 18th (7:00-11:00 p.m. ET/4:00-8:00 p.m. PT) on ABC. Emmy Award-winning producer Don Mischer will executive produce the broadcast hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
