The Orphan The Poet Announces New EP

Dayton, OH alternative band The Orphan The Poet will release their latest EP Terrible Things on June 3rd.

The EP, produced Machine (Cobra Starship, Everytime I Die), will be supported with a release show June 17th at Park Street Saloon in Columbus, OH, before the band hits the road in support of CONIDITIONS. In addition, The Orphan The Poet has released the EP’s title track as the first single.

“When I sent my first demo of ‘Terrible Things’ to the other guys, I honestly expected to be laughed at,” said vocalist David Eselgroth. “ I just figured they’d tell me to stop listening to so much Weezer or something, and I was fully prepared to toss the track into the ‘maybe someday’ pile. Luckily, my band mates had keener foresight than I did; specifically, Jake replied, ‘That’s it. That’s the one’.  I’m really proud of this song because it’s such a reach for us stylistically, but at the same time, it feels connected to where we came from.”

Terrible Things is available for preorder now. You can hear the EP’s title track below.
