The 88th Academy Awards Winners

The 88th Academy Awards Ceremony hit an 8 year low on ABC last night with a total of 32 million viewers. In the midst of the #OscarsSoWhite controversy, this drop in ratings could have been influenced by the large number of celebrities that proposed a ban of the ceremony due to the lack of diverse nominees. Among the highlights of the night were Chris Rock’s Girl Scout Cookie sale, Mad Max: Fury Road’s winning streak, Joe Biden introducing Lady Gaga’s emotional performance, and 6-time nominee Leonardo DiCaprio finally winning his first award.
