Finn Jones Cast As Marvel’s Iron Fist

The last of The Defenders cast has been announced. Finn Jones will be playing Iron Fist in Marvel’s TV universe. You probably recognize Jones from HBO’s Game of Thrones as Ser Loras Tyrell.

Iron Fist will be the latest installment of the Marvel television shows on Netflix, following the success of Daredevil and Jessica Jones. Add in Luke Cage and you get The Defenders.

Iron Fist’s alter ego is Daniel Rand in the comics, who grows up in New York City until age 9, when his family travels to a mystical city called K’un-L’un. It is there that Daniel learns to master martial arts and the power of the Iron Fist. Once an adult Daniel comes back to NYC and becomes a superhero. We can only assume that Iron Fist will follow that same backstory, based upon the other Marvel/Netflix series.

Many fans were hoping to see an Asian American actor portray the character of Iron Fist, but I am looking forward to seeing what Finn Jones will bring to the Marvel Universe.
