MCM Jensen Ackles

A fellow Texan, Jensen Ackles has been acting for about 20 years now. He is perhaps best known for his role as demon hunter Dean Winchester on the CW’s Supernatural. He recently won a People’s Choice Award Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy Actor for his role, which a lot of fans consider long-deserved.

My first encounter with Jensen was way back in the late 90s when he was on Days of Our Lives as Eric Brady. I was sad when his character left, but delighted when Jensen was cast as the male lead on Dark Angel, opposite Jessica Alba. In the early 2000s Jensen had a season-long arc on Smallville as Lana Lang’s boyfriend/Clark’s football coach. SCANDALOUS.

Jensen’s big break came in 2005 when he was cast in Supernatural. He originally auditioned for the part of Sam, but I think all of us are happy he ended up as Dean. I can’t imagine anyone else playing an emotionally distraught big brother, can you?
