Hands Like Houses to Release Much Anticipated Third Album in 2016
The Australian band, Hands Like Houses will be releasing their long-awaited, much-anticipated third studio album, “Dissonants” on February 26, 2016, on their label, Rise. Beginning December 17, fans can pre-order the new album in various formats and bundles via iTunes and hlh.merchnow.com
Earlier this year, the band released a “teaser song” called “I Am” which precipitated excitement around the globe. Hands Like Houses joined the Vans Warped Tours, and after finishing their US tour dates returned home and released yet another teaser tune, “New Romantics. As their previous album had been released in 2013, there was anticipation and pressure to make a follow-up album. Add into that mix a few lineup changes and the band felt that this next album “could make or break them.”
Frontman Trenton Woodley goes on to say, “We’re feeling a powerful mix of relief and excitement in finally releasing “Dissonants.” After Woodley makes clear the make or break situation, he goes on to say, “it nearly did make or break us, but we were honest with ourselves, each other, and most importantly the music, adopting the mantra ‘it’s better to get this right than to just get it done. And we’re proud to finally say, we’ve done both.”
The new album was produced by James Paul Wisner, who helmed the band’s 2013 release and breakout album “Unimagine” and has worked with artists such as Paramore and Underoath. The album will be released on Rise Records, and contains 12 tracks, including the two “teaser” songs. The band has high hopes that “Dissonants” will launch them into a new level of recognition across the globe. Their heavy metal sound with Woodley’s clear, poignant voice is engaging to listen to, and their melodic hooks combined with heavy metal thrashing guitars, could easily become arena anthems.
The current lineup is Trenton Woodley, drummer Matt Parkitney, guitarists Alexander Pearson and Matt Cooper, and bassist Joel Tyrrell. The band is currently touring their native Australia, before returning to the US in Concord, NC.
