Disney Channel Scores Ratings Trifecta

As 2015 comes to a close, television networks are seeing how their ratings compared to those of their peers and competition. A huge congratulations needs to go out to Disney Channel who received good news after good news this year! They came out as number one in three different ratings categories:

First, Disney Channel is the #1 cable TV network in total viewers in total day measurement. This is the first time Disney has won this category, with Nickelodeon losing the top spot for the first time in years.

Second, the network won Kids 6-11 for the 5th consecutive year.

And third, Disney Channel secures its 7th straight victory in Tweens 9-14 with its largest margin ever over Nickelodeon.

If those wins aren’t enough, the network tied for first in Kids 2-11 and was a Top 5 cable TV network for the 13th year in a row in Total Viewers. Disney Channel owes much of these victories to three major telecasts premiering this year: original movie Descendants which was the #5 original movie in cable TV history, another original film Teen Beach Movie 2 which was the #2 cable TV telecast of the year (after Descendants) and The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar which was the year’s #1 primetime cable TV telecast in Kids 2-5.
