Memories of The WB: Even a Charmed Slayer Can’t Go Back to the Creek

I really miss The WB.
Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Charmed, Dawson’s Creek, Gilmore Girls, One Tree Hill, Felicity, Everwood, Roswell, Smallville, 7th Heaven. These were the shows that occupied many hours of my life. They were original dramas in a class by themselves. Programming like this only comes a long once in a lifetime.
It’s been 9 years since The WB and UPN networks united and hybrid The CW was born. But the memories of the shows that graced The WB still linger.
If it weren’t for shows like Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Charmed, with those hero vampires, vampire hunters and witches, we wouldn’t have shows like Supernatural, Arrow and The Originals. Their WB parents set the cornerstone for them to develop. Speedster Barry Allen should slow down and give thanks to Smallville’s Clark Kent for opening the superhero door for him!
And we will never again fall in love with another group of aliens like the ones from Roswell.
Even coming of age and going to high school and college was special when watching Dawson’s Creek, One Tree Hill and Felicity.
The families on 7th Heaven, Gilmore Girls and Everwood showed us there was no stronger bond.
Netflix, ABC Family and TNT have given us the chance to say hello to some of these old friends but as the saying goes ‘You can’t go home again.’ There is and will always be one WB.
Thanks for the memories, you’ll never be forgotten.
