Cover Wars: When We Were Young

“When We Were Young” was the second song released from Adele’s dramatic return to music, 25. The song was released on November 17, 2015 with a video of Adele performing the song live at Church Studios in London. The performance at Church Studios was teased during a preview of a 60 Minutes Australia interview with the songstress.

“When We Were Young” was co-wrote by Adele and Tobias Jesso Jr. in Los Angeles, California. It is written from a much older Adele as she imagines herself being at a party with everyone she has loved, everyone she has never loved, and all of the people in her life that have drifted away. Adele performed the song live on Saturday Night Live November 21st.

If you missed Adele on SNL, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, or the Today Show you can look forward to hearing her breathtaking voice on December 14th when she releases her Christmas special recorded at Radio City Music Hall, it will be entitled Adele Live in New York City and will air at 10 p.m.

I have been in love with Adele since she entered the music scene years ago and my love has only grown stronger since she took a break from music. “Hello” has been my new anthem, but “When We Were Young” is battling to take that spot. So, to honor my obsession with Adele and her flawless vocal cords, here are my Top 5 favorite covers of “When We Were Young” by Adele, don’t forget to vote for your favorite below!
