McG of Wonderland Sound & Vision Signs Two Year Development Deal

Accomplished television producer and director McG of Wonderland Sound & Vision has signed a two year development deal with ABC Family, ABC Studios and ABC Signature to direct and develop both scripted drama and comedy show as well as produce digital content across various platforms.
In January 2016, ABC Family will undergo a name change becoming Freeform.
McG is well-known to television audiences as an executive producer of the CW ‘s long running show “Supernatural” about demon fighting brothers Sam and Dean Winchester. In addition, McG’s other television credits include NBC’s “Mysteries of Laura” and ABC Family’s comedy “Kevin from Work” and the upcoming series “Shadowhunters.”
“Shadowhunters” is based on the bestselling young adult fantasy book series The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra. The protagonist of the show is Clary Fray who discovers on her 18th birthday that she is a descendant of shadowhunters, a group of human-angel hybrids who hunt demons. After her mother is kidnapped, Clary is embroiled in the world of demon hunting with a mysterious shadowhunter Jace, and her best friend, Simon.
In addition to his impressive television resume, McG has a solid feature film background serving as a director of the highly successful Charlie’s Angels and its sequel, Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle. McG’s other feature films credits include Terminator: Salvation, We Are Marshall, Three Days to Kill, The Babysitter and The Duff.
