Cover Wars: On My Mind

“On My Mind” is the lead single from Elli Goulding’s upcoming third studio album entitled Delirium. The song was released in September of 2015 and is strongly believed to be Ellie’s response to Ed Sheeran’s “Don’t” although Ellie has denied this multiple times. However, the song is about a drunken hookup with someone the protagonist of the song should not be with.
“On My Mind” was a top ten song in the United Kingdom and Australia. It has reached top twenty in seven other countries. The song is currently number 19 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. The music video for “On My Mind” was released four days after the song was released and is inspired by the film Thelma & Louise.
I heard this song in a friend’s car and instantly fell in love with it (whether this song is about Ed or not I’m just going to pretend it is, because OTP). So to honor the life, death, and sassy re-telling of the only relationship I will ever approve of Ed Sheeran being in, here are my Top 4 covers of Ellie Goulding’s “On My Mind,” don’t forget to vote for your favorite below!
