Jon Hamm wins Emmy gold

Jon Hamm has finally won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his riveting portrayal of dynamic but flawed ad man Don Draper in AMC’s series Mad Men.

Hamm had been nominated multiple times in this category. Last night was his first win.

His Don Draper was a tortured anti-hero, handsome, successful and passionate. Yet, Don also wrestled with dark demons that often left his personal and professional lives on a collision course with disaster.

Mad Men aired its last episode this past spring.
