Seven Reasons SyFy Channel Needs to #RenewDarkMatter

 

1- Can you really leave us with Evil Wil Wheaton and NOT give us more of the story behind this character and his mysterious employer?

Viewers gave a collective “squee” of delight when geek icon Wil Wheaton appeared on-screen as scientist Alex Rook, who was acting under the orders of an enigmatic “old” man to capture Two/Portia/Rebecca (played by Melissa O’Neill) and find the flaws in her engineering to perfect another superhuman prototype. Who is this elderly man–that claims his body to be twenty-four years old–and why is he creating ultra-powerful, nigh-indestructible humans (something the all-powerful Galactic Authority has outright banned)?

2- We can’t get enough of the outstanding Jodelle Ferland as the adorably innocent Five/Das.

Jodelle’s performance as the youngest member of the Raza’s amnesiac crew has drawn in countless fans with her spunk and determination. The character’s intuitive knowledge of electrical and mechanical workings and youthful naivete endeared her to viewers instantaneously. We need to see more of her, plain and simple.

3- Depriving us of Alex Mallari, Jr’s phenomenal stunt scenes is just plain wrong.

Not gonna lie here: I could watch him kick ass for days. You have harness his talent, SyFy, and keep this show going! His devoted followers, the #FourClan, demand it!

4- One/Jace Corso/Derrick Moss–just who is he?

One has given us his sob story about learning of his forgotten wife’s demise after researching the profile associated with the DNA of the body he had surgically altered to appear as Jace Corso, but how true is Derrick Moss’s tale? Why does he really have it out for Three? And speaking of Three…

5- We need that knock-down, drag-out fight that has been threatening to explode between One and Three, and we need bad.

Sure, these guys are always aiming weapons at each other or going at it in a verbal tete-a-tete, but what we really want to see is that barroom brawl in the making that would be so perfect for these two. That machismo isn’t going to resolve itself in a one-shot episode or special, either; we want more of it. Another season of it–or two. Or three. Or five. Just keep ’em coming, SyFy.

6- Just how powerful is Two?

This is another question that needs answering, as does the following: With this other prototype superhuman hinted at in the season one finale, viewers can’t be left without an epic battle between Two and this other engineered human. Melissa O’Neill’s stunt scenes are just as bad-ass as Alex Mallari, Jr’s, and the premise of a fight between her and another superhuman is something that can’t be overlooked.

7- Roger Cross’s double-cross as Six.

In a turn of events that left social media buzzing in shock, Six–at one time considered the most trustworthy and compassionate of the crew members–ended up being the mastermind behind the amnesia, and quite possibly the Galactic Authority’s inside man. This shocking twist can’t go unanswered! What made him become a mole for the man? Was he ever really a member of the crew?

In short, don’t leave us hanging, SyFy! #RenewDarkMatter now, and keep your viewers coming back for more.
