Cover Wars: Tear In My Heart

“Tear In My Heart” is the second single from alternative hip-hop duo Twenty One Pilot’s fourth studio album, Blurryface. The song and video were both released worldwide in April 2015. The love song appropriately features singer, Tyler Joseph’s wife Jenna.

The album Blurryface is named after a character Twenty One Pilots created that show’s what lead singer, Tyler and drummer Josh Dun, as well as everyone else is insecure about. This character appears in songs throughout the album, however, never appears in “Tear In My Heart,” causing fans to draw the conclusion that for Tyler, Jenna (the tear in his heart), keeps his insecurity away. The song peaked the US Alternative Billboard Chart at number 2.

I’ve recently discovered Twenty One Pilots and while I really love all of their music this song has stuck with me from the second I heard it. The upbeat sound and overall meaning of the song sucked me in.

To honor my ongoing obsession with all things Twenty One Pilots and especially this song, here are my Top 5 covers of “Tear In My Heart.” Vote for your favorite below!
