Album review: Miss May I, "Deathless"

Metal band Miss May I’s new album, Deathless, is an unusual mix of screaming vocals and sung lyrics. The lyrics seem almost contradictory to the harshness of the music, oftentimes deep and meaningful. In Psychotic Romantic, the screams of “I’m not worthy of such beauty/I’m not worthy of a love like this” seem like they should belong in a much softer genre.

For a metal album, it’s decent fare, but aside from the “regular” singing intermingled with the “scream” singing, it sounds like pretty much any other metal album out there. This factor may be enough, though, to set it apart from other albums.
