Cover Wars: Budapest

“Budapest” is the lead single from British artist George Ezra’s debut album Wanted on Voyage. The song peaked at number 3 on the UK Singles chart and has been successful in New Zealand, Austria, Germany, Australia, Ireland, Italy, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. “Budapest” has also sold 500,000 copies in the US.

While the song is named after the city in Hungary, Ezra says it actually has nothing to do with the real city of Budapest, he has never been there. He was meant to catch a train to Budapest but was too hung over to make it, therefore, he was “miles from Budapest.”
