Netflix Prepares Subscribers For "Hemlock Grove"

hemlock-grae-banner1Netflix has started getting some original programming and I can’t say I mind. House of Cards was a resounding success with a second season already in production. Good programming on a site like Netflix doesn’t need to be censored to be acceptable, and their new show ‘Hemlock Grove’ seems to be a scary, thrilling, suspenseful drama. The official description of the show is “a teenage girl is brutally murdered, sparking a hunt for her killer. But in a town where everyone hides a secret, will they find the monster among them?” but the trailer adds so much more intrigue into this the picture.

The body is found near the Godfrey steel mill and rumours around town land on two main suspects. Peter Rumancek (Landon Liboiron, Degrassi) is 17, a Gypsy, trailer trash, and possibly a werewolf. Roman Godfrey (Bill Skarsgård, Anna Karenina) is the heir to the Godfrey estate. Although an unlikely pair, they team up to find the killer, making strange discoveries along the way. Gypsies, monsters, sex, betrayal, and secrets abound in this new TV show on Netflix.

Eli Roth, who has directed scary movies like Cabin Fever and Hostel (parts I and II) along with a few segments from Quentin Tarantino films, is executive producer of the series and brings his directing abilities to the first episode of Hemlock, which is bound to be a stylized scare-fest.

What do you think of the trailer (below).
