Saying Goodbye to 'The Secret Circle'
This season of ‘The Secret Circle’ in my opinion was wonderful, but according to the ratings, others weren’t as pleased. Of course like all shows on TV it had its strong episodes and its weak ones. With strong plot points, New characters, and a smoldering cast, I’d like to take a look at the strongest episodes of The Secret Circle’s first and final season.
“Pilot” Episode 1.1 |
The pilot episode was what got us all hooked. We had Amelia being murdered, Cassie coming to Chance Harbor– (which was not by accident), A group of confused teenagers, and mischievous parental units. It set the entire season up and it kept us coming back for more.
“Slither” Episode 1.5 |
This was one of my favorite episodes because it started setting the tone for the season. By introducing the children to demons, Cassie had to admit to Jane that they were practicing magic. Melissa ends up being possessed and when Jane tries to stop it, the demon jumped ship and possessed Nick. In this episode, one of the main characters dies. This threw us all for a loop, until we realized they were making way for a new character- Jake.
“Fire/Ice” Episode 1.11 |
This is a dance episode, which clearly by the CW means its going to be an awesome episode already- Cassie and Adam are digging up more information about her father and also growing closer so Adam asks Cassie to the dance. Faye is still trying to have her own magic again so she enlists Lee’s help. When things start going terribly wrong, a stranger saves Cassie and Melissa from the flames.
“Return” Episode 1.15 |
Finally we meet John Blackwell. When Cassie is captured by Eben, Jake and Adam plan to save her their own ways. Diana and Faye are worried about Melissa spending more time with Callum.
“Crystal” Episode 1.19 |
To protect themselves from the witch hunters, Jake, Cassie and Faye seek out Jake’s grandfather Royce, to find his family’s crystal and are confronted with disturbing theories about the events of sixteen years ago. Meanwhile, Diana tries to balance her pursuit of the Glaser crystal with Melissa and Adam with her romantic life with Grant, who demands to know what she’s hiding. At the same time, Callum attempts to re-insert himself into Melissa’s life. Charles and Jane plot their move against Blackwell. The second Blackwell child in the circle was revealed. Amazing episode.
This was an incredible show. I’m very upset we will never know what was going to happen with the other four Blackwell children, or if Jake and Cassie get a chance, or even if Cassie finds out Charles killed her mother. These are all things I guess will have to be left up to imagination. So here is where we say goodbye to ‘The Secret Circle;.
Thank you Kevin Williamson, Britt Robertson, Phoebe Tonkin, Thomas Dekker, Shelley Hennig, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Louis Hunter, Natasha Henstridge, Chris Zylka, and everyone else involved!
ALSO a special shout out to Gale Harold. An amazing actor whose shows keep getting cancelled! (R.I.P. Hellcats ):)
