Questions Following ‘Arrow’ Season 8 Fall Finale

On Tuesday’s fall finale of Arrow, Oliver Queen found himself back where it all began. He may have been back on Lian Yu, but it’s what he did towards the end of his final mission that left everyone in tears.
Here are the two big questions I have following episode 8×07, titled “Purgatory”.
Will Mia take up her father’s mantel?
One of biggest moments of the episode revolved around Mia and her relationship with Oliver. After Oliver informed his kids that he won’t survive the Crisis, Mia becomes angry with him for keeping it from them this long. However, William makes his sister realize that if their dad is truly going to die then she shouldn’t be angry with him.
At the end of the episode, Mia and Oliver have an emotional and heartfelt moment. She tells him how she heard stories about her father and Oliver says she will write her own story soon.
I noticed that hint towards the reported spinoff. So that poses the question: will Mia follow in her father’s footsteps? I think the chances are high given she can kick some serious ass and it looks like Star City could use the help in the future.
Will Oliver actually die?
Yes, I know. The Monitor has seen Oliver’s future and he will die in the Crisis. But does he? After everything Oliver has done for the city, his team, and now his family, I’m having a hard time believing it. Why you may ask? Well, Felicity went to “see him” during the Season 7 finale with The Monitor. While the show did not give it away, she was more than likely talking about Oliver. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if Oliver ends up in some alternate universe by the series finale.
What did you think of the episode? Let me know in the comments below!
Arrow airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on The CW.
