3 Questions following ‘Batwoman’ 1×06 “I’ll Be Judge, I’ll Be Jury”

This episode of week’s Batwoman saw someone find out Kate’s identity and a strong villain wreak havoc over Gotham. In the end, there were more questions about how Kate will move forward and what is planned for the rest of the season.

Here are three big questions I have following 1×06, titled “I’ll Be Judge, I’ll Be Jury”:

Will Sophie spill Kate’s secret?

Sunday’s episode saw Sophie become suspicious that her friend and ex-girlfriend is actually the one behind the Batwoman mask. She gets approval from The Crows to tail her so that she can find out if her suspicions are true. Kate is trying to take down the Executioner, this week’s villain. Sophie gets hit by a bullet and that’s when she drops the bombshell: “Thanks… Kate.”

So this brings up the question – will Sophie out Kate as Batwoman? Of course, Sophie has zero proof because she hasn’t actually seen Kate in the costume; she just has a strong feeling. After being patched up at Mary’s side clinic, Sophie appeared to be ready to out her friend but Mary basically guilted her into not doing so.

I personally can’t see Sophie outing Kate, but this show is a part of the Arrowverse. On all of these shows, there’s always a few people who the identity of the hero; remember Iris finding out Barry is The Flash or Oliver telling Diggle he’s The Hood aka The Green Arrow. So I feel like it is only a matter of time before Sophie finds out the truth.

Will The Joker enter the Arrowverse?

You may have missed it but there a slight reference to The Joker in Sunday’s episode. The name used was “Jack Napier”, which is a nod to the Tim Burton films. So with that said, will Arrowverse’s version of Gotham be seeing The Joker terrorize the city?

It is not out of the realm of possibility that we could see a version of The Joker appear. Over on Gotham, Cameron Monaghan played “J” in the final season of the show, which was essentially their version of the iconic clown villain.

I can only hope that we see some version of The Joker enter the Arrowverse. It would be pretty cool to see Kate battle it out against one of the most iconic villains in DC comics history.

What is Alice planning for Kate?

At the end of the episode, viewers got a glimpse of what Alice has planned for Kate. She explains to a very jealous Mouse that she’s saving Kate a seat at their “tea party”. If she refuses to “play”, then Alice will use the coil accelerator gun that was stolen earlier in the show.

This reminds me of the Jervis Tetch aka Mad Hatter episode in Gotham, where he forced Jim Gordon to choose who to kill between his ex-girlfriend and current girlfriend at a “tea party”. I have a very strong feeling Alice may force Kate to choose between Sophie and her father. What she’ll have her do remains to be seen, but it looks like things are headed in that direction.
