Ben Lewis promoted to series regular for final season of ‘Arrow’

Arrow is currently filming its eighth and final season and it seems that another member of Oliver Queen’s family will be sticking around for the long haul.
TVLine is reporting that Ben Lewis, who plays Oliver’s grown son William Clayton-Queen, has been promoted to series regular for Season 8. The news comes just a few days after Katherine McNamara was promoted to series regular for the shortened 10-episode final run.
Season seven ended with Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) leaving with the Monitor to visit Oliver somewhere in the multiverse. Prior to her leaving, she told William and Mia that they are the future heroes of the city.
The news of Lewis, McNamara, and Joseph David-Jones all being promoted to series regulars seems points to the 2040 future storyline continuing next season.
