Warner Bros is Skipping Hall H This Year

Patty Jenkins has revealed that Warner Brothers will not be holding its annual presentation at Comic-Con 2019. Warner Brothers usually opens the Hall H on Saturday, the biggest day for the entire convention. Fans usually camp out for days to get a sneak peek on the newest movies that they have to offer in what is usually a 2-hour long panel.

Even though Warner Brothers as a collective will not be in appearance – I’m still holding out on hope that DC films might have their own panel block instead. They have three DC movies coming between 2019 and 2020: Todd Phillips’ Joker in October, Cathy Yan’s Birds of Prey in February and next June’s Wonder Woman 1984.

DC typically brings their staple CW shows to the convention so we should expect to see staples like Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow in Ballroom 20. That will most likely be expanded this year with the success of their DC Universe streaming service with live action shows like Titans, Doom Patrol, and Swamp Thing. It would be great if DC films did the something similar.

Last year Patty Jenkins, Chris Pine, and Gal Gadot brought an early clip from WW84 to the Warner Brothers Hall H panel even though they had only just begun shooting. I would have hoped that they returned this year, but it may have something to do with talent availability as stars Gal Gadot and Chris Pine are currently connected to projects that will be filming this summer.

We were also hoping for some information on the new Matt Reeves Batman. We still don’t know much about the film besides the recent confirmation of Robert Pattinson as the lead star. It would be great to get the Comic-Con fan reaction to him and show some mock images of him in the new suit.

I’m not giving up hope yet! We’ll be covering San Diego Comic-Con July 17-21, so stay tuned for any announcements as the date creeps closer.
