Sky Brown crowned winner of ‘Dancing With The Stars: Juniors’

On Sunday’s inaugural season finale, 10-year-old Sky Brown and her partner JT Church were crowned the first-ever winners of Dancing With The Stars: Juniors.

The professional skateboarder beat out 14-year-old Dance Moms star Mackenzie Ziegler, 11-year-old Avengers: Infinity War star Ariana Greenblatt, and 13-year-old Blackish star Miles Brown to take home the mirror star trophy.

Following a night of dances, hosts Jordan Fisher and Frankie Muniz returned to deliver the big results. With the combined scores from the last two weeks, Sky and JT were announced as the champions.

Sky dropped to the floor in tears, overcome with emotion.

“I love you all and I’m going to miss you so much,” she said moments after her win.

Each couple had two dances to perform on the final night of competition: the first being their favorite routine of the season and the second being the all-important freestyle.

Sky and JT scored a perfect 30 for both their routines, giving them 60 total points for the night. Each couple knew how important the freestyle round was. Having seen the ‘adult’ competition they knew it’s what could set them apart.

Ariana and Artyon must not have fully embraced that message because their freestyle was rather plain. It wasn’t unique or special, and apparently, the judges agreed – giving them a 28. They were the only couple to not get a perfect score on their freestyle.

The best freestyle belonged to Mackenzie as she hip-hopped her way to a perfect score. The routine really showed how far she’d come in the competition and seeing her face light up made it all worthwhile.
