Lin-Manuel Has the Best Reaction to Jordan Fisher Joining ‘Hamilton’

Start spreading the news…Jordan Fisher is headed to New York.

The star announced today he’ll be making his Broadway debut in the room where it happens, joining the cast of smash-hit Hamilton. Fisher will be taking the reigns from Anthony Ramos as John Laurens and Philip Hamilton on Tuesday, November 22. Ramos’ last performance will be November 20. Fisher made the announcement on his Twitter, followed by a heartfelt message for his predecessor.

Since the announcement, the Grease: Live! star has been flooded with messages of support from fans and friends alike.

Also joining in on the excitement was none other than the ‘Hamilton’ creator himself, Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Fisher (like the rest of us) was overcome with emotion, tweeting that Miranda was going to make him cry. What followed was a delightful conversation between the two. Trust me; you’ll want to read the whole thread.

Through the excitement and gifs, Fisher made sure to express his gratitude in an additional tweet saying, “PS – thanks for letting me do the thing” with a heart emoji.

This will be the second time Hamilton’s director, Thomas Kail, has worked with Jordan Fisher. The two were also together on FOX’s Emmy-award winning production of Grease: Live! This is just the latest in a year of success for Jordan. In August, he released his first-ever EP and will drop a full-length album in 2017.
