A Sneak Peek Into Hamilton’s America

Alexander Hamilton, who’s accolades were once overlooked, was in jeopardy of being taken off the $10. But then, Lin-Manuel Miranda created the musical phenomenon that has since taken the world by storm. Hamilton quickly became the centerfold of American history, with Miranda narrating his life in a creative way so that it was accessible and exciting to people across the globe.
Directed by Alex Horwitz, Hamilton’s America follows the journey from the first song, to an interview with President Obama in the White House, to visits to historical sites like Mt. Vernon, to the most recent footage of the original cast performing together on Broadway. Not only will this give an inside look as to Lin’s writing process, but will also be a special treat for those who didn’t get a chance to see the show live with the original cast since tickets were, and still are, extremely hard to come by.
Hamilton’s America, debuts on THIRTEEN’s Great Performances October 21 at 9 PM ET on PBS as the season premiere of the PBS Arts Fall Festival. You can watch the official trailer for the special below.
