CON MAN: THE GAME Launches on iTunes and Google Play
Science fiction dream team Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion, today launched CON MAN: THE GAME on iTunes and Google Play for…FREE!!! Developed by Frima and executive producer PJ Haarsma, the hilarious mobile game which was inspired by the hit Comic-Con HQ show “Con Man”, allows players to build and host the greatest comic book convention in the history of the world (even better than SDCC!) with help from Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk and other fun celebrity surprises (think Joss Whedon, Felicia Day, Nolan North, etc.)!
The game allows players to customize and build their very own geeky con paradise; whether that is Sci-fi, fantasy, horror or hero themed. Playing as the omnipotent and ambitious convention planner, players will need to grow their con and increase their hype meter by setting up new booths and inviting increasingly high-profile celebrities. They will also have to balance their growth with keeping con-goers happy by squashing cockroaches, catching the occasional octogenarian streaker, and fending off alien invasions from the cancelled-too-soon sci-fi show, Spectrum (ahem, see any parallels?????), alongside Super Fan allies.
The game came to life when, unwilling to compromise or sacrifice, Alan and crew took the radical approach of stepping away from the usual Hollywood investors and instead turned to the fans that inspired the show for financing. The Indiegogo campaign raised a record-breaking $3.2M (their initial goal was $425,000) making this the third highest funded film on any crowdfunding platform EVER and all-time highest crowdfunded web series in HISTORY. The incredible success of the campaign was also able to fund the development of CON MAN: THE GAME as well as the Spectrum comic book.

CON MAN: THE GAME is the most recent expansion of the Con Man universe and joins the wildly popular Con Man Season 1 and recently announced Season 2, which will be released on Comic-Con HQ. It also joins the Spectrum comic book series and motion comic released earlier this year.
“Con Man” centers around the post-show life of Wray Nerely (Tudyk), the pilot and co-star of “Spectrum”, a sci-fi series which was canceled before it’s time and eventually became a cult classic beloved by fans. Wray’s good friend, Jack Moore (Fillion) starred in the series and has gone on to become a major celebrity, while Wray continued to struggle to find his big break. While Jack enjoys the life of an A-lister, Wray tours the sci-fi circuit as a guest of conventions, comic book stores, and lots of pop culture events. The show explores all the weird and crazy things that happen to Wray along the way, while telling the story of a guy learning to love and embrace his fans. Season 1 of “Con Man” is currently available on Comic-Con HQ and Season 2 will premiere this November.
