New Single “Right Around the Corner” by The Nightowls Premieres on Paste
From Austin, Texas, Motown soul group The Nightowls have partnered with Paste Magazine to premiere their new single “Right Around the Corner.”
The single bounces with the classic beat and bump of Motown while also bringing the energy of some modern pop artists. Listening to the song is like being sent back to the 60’s and 70’s, the image of young couples dancing and swinging each other around while the band is playing for them live becomes prevalent in the listener’s mind. But one could also picture something from the Jackson 5 videos, the energy and pop melodies coming through just as equally well as the classic elements on the track.
“Right Around the Corner” is from The Nightowls’ upcoming album Royal Sessions EP, which is set to drop on July 15th this summer. The EP was recorded at Royal Studios in Memphis, Tennessee, and combines a range of influences from James Brown to Michael Jackson to achieve a harmonic balance of classic soul and modern pop. The layering of instrumentation, lead vocals, and harmonies sung by female members Ellie Harkrider and Tara Williamson, come together to create an album full of energetic and composited tracks.
