Amazon Announces Series Pick-ups for 2016

Amazon announced yesterday that the results of its Pilot Week voting are in!  Amazon will be picking up the half hour comedy “Highston” starring Lewis Pullman, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Chris Parnell and Curtis Armstrong.  “Highston” follows 19-year-old Highston Liggetts, played by newcomer Pullman, who has a wide circle of celebrity friends — that only he can see. His parents Jean (Rajskub) and Wilbur (Parnell) force him to get psychiatric help, but his Uncle Billy (Armstrong) thinks he’s just fine. You can still see the pilot on Amazon, read our review and get some inside information from Curtis Armstrong himself here at TNWU.

Additional pick ups include “Z: The Beginning of Everything” which is based on the life of Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald and stars Christina Ricci in the title role.  Political thriller “Patriot” follows the complicated life of intelligence officer John Tavner, played by Australian newcomer Michael Dorman, whose latest assignment is to prevent Iran from going nuclear. This series also stars LOST alum Terry O’Quinn.

The other three series given the green light are shows for children.  The titles of which are “Danger & Eggs”, “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” and “Niko and the Sword of Light”.
