WCW Ming-Na Wen

The first time I saw Ming-Na Wen was in The Joy Luck Club. We read the book in English class and watched the movie after. I became an instant fan.
My fangirling went deeper when a few years later she voiced the title character in Disney’s Mulan. It probably helped that the character was a historical bamf. Three years later she added more voice work to her repertoire as the voice of Dr. Aki Ross in Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. Admittedly, I only watched that one because my husband loves the Final Fantasy games, but I started paying more attention to the plot once I realized who the voice belonged to.
Three more years passed by and Ming-Na Wen made an appearance on one of my all-time favorite television shows, Law & Order: SVU.
Throughout these years, Wen lended her talents to NBC’s E.R. She played Dr. Deb (later calling herself by her real name, Jing-Mei) Chen. I had no idea of this until I decided to binge-watch the entire series after it ended.
Ming-Na Wen can currently be seen on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.I where she portrays resident bamf Agent Melinda May.
Agents of SHIELD currently airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on ABC.
