960Spoiler alert:  This article contains spoilers from the episode titled “Chapter Twenty-Four” which may not have aired yet in some regions.

Michael. Rafael. Michael. Rafael.

Jane Villanueva had been going back and forth trying to choose between these two men. For Jane, this was not an easy decision.  Both men held a special place in her heart. Now with Baby Mateo thrown into the mix, it was not just her life she had to consider but the life and happiness of her son as well.

She needed guidance. Enter Bachelorette Jane. The Jane the Virgin writers devised a clever way to guarantee that Jane was the one who made the choice, without any coaxing from either of her suitors, grandmother, mother or father. Bachelorette Jane was the young, carefree part of Jane who didn’t over think everything.

Gina Rodriguez is an acting powerhouse. She’s able to play all the dramatic aspects of her character and also the comedic undertones. Having two Jane’s interacting together was a stroke of genius. Bachelorette Jane also served as the voice of the viewer as she pointed out things about Michael and Rafael that the audience are probably saying to her through the television set.

Unfortunately by episode’s end, Jane was right back where she started as she finally admitted that she loves both Michael and Rafael.

Will Jane ever make a choice?

Jane the Virgin airs Mondays at 9/8c on the CW.
