Do you have a favorite concert that you’ve been to?

“One of the first concerts I ever went to was a Disturbed concert in New York City. Somehow I weaseled my way to the front where that middle grate is by the stage where the bouncers make sure you don’t get on to the stage. I had two huge guys on either side of me that were helping to protect my spot because everybody wanted to be in front of the moshpit. Despite almost getting kicked in the head, like forty times by crowd surfers, it was awesome.”

Do you have a favorite song to cover?

“I’d actually like to cover two songs right now. Bruno Mars’s ‘Grenade’ and the other song is originally from West Side Story, but Little Richard covered it. It’s called ‘I Feel Pretty’. He did it in a Little Richard way. Those are my two favorite songs that I’d like to cover someday.”

Do you like a lot of theater and Broadway?

“Absolutely. I practically grew up in the community theater. There has been times that I’ve done three shows at once. I’d be working lights for one, and acting in another. It was a huge part of my life for a long time.”

You have toured in Lebanon before. Has that been your favorite place to tour to, or is there another place you love visiting?

“It was such a new and intense experience for me. Well music is huge there. That is what I really didn’t expect. I was thankful enough that they appreciated it and that they wanted me there, but when I got there, they welcomed me with open arms. They were happy to have me. It was wonderful.”

You seem to love coming to Chicago, any particular reason?

“I love Chicago. I get real butterflies in my stomach when I talk about Chicago. I know I sound like a little girl in a candy shop. Every time I go out there, I want to play WhirlyBall so bad but we end up not having enough time. But they promised me WhirlyBall , so someday I will play  WhirlyBall in Chicago.”

Do you have any full touring plans coming up?

“It’s actually in the works. That’s about it. I just am really looking forward to going back to Chicago, I’m glad you brought it up because it’s always in the back of my head – when are we going back to Chicago. I will be on the east coast in not too long. I know New York and Miami are in the works as well. We will see where it goes from there.”

If you could have any superpower what would it be?

“Oh man. I think if I could have any superpower, it would be the ability to take any superpower. Kind of like Rogue in X-Men. But wait, if  I was the only person with superpowers, than taking superpowers would be useless because nobody else has any powers. So I’ve backed myself into a corner there now.”
